WEBsmockers is an online chapter of the Smocking Arts Guild of America.

Joining WEBsmockers gives you a different method of enjoying the guild membership experience. You also get a really nice pin!

WEBsmockers was chartered in 1996 at the Baltimore Convention and is open to anyone who is a SAGA member.

While we have some members who do not have access to local chapters, many belong to other chapters or have belonged to one that disbanded. Perhaps they have moved away from a local chapter. That was the case when I moved from Florida to Texas.

We meet once a month in a private AIM (AOL Instant Messager) Chat room, and while you have to bring your own snacks, we do conduct a regular business meeting and chat. At our business meetings we discuss upcoming projects, such as making favors for conventions or decide whether to do a SAGA correspondence class. We also talk about what we’re working on, who has the chocolate (always a necessity!!!), what our families are up to or just chat about everyday happenings.

There are several groups taking correspondence courses, and you never know when you’ll open your email and find a picture of someone’s latest creation.

The raffle baskets that we contribute for the SAGA annual convention are always eagerly anticipated by the attendees and generate lots of interest.

We also make at least 100 wee care gowns to donate at the convention.
