Looking Ahead to The SAGA Trunk Show 2017

The SAGA Trunk Show is an educational tool for the chapters’ use to spur new design ideas and to cultivate the  desire to learn new techniques.  When the trunk show is assembled an attempt is made to provide a variety of items that showcase the four areas of study in the Artisan program; embroidery, fine hand sewing, fine machine sewing and smocking.  This has proven to be a difficult task to assemble such a show, so, a different approach is being used for the 2017 trunk show.  We are asking each chapter to contribute at least one item (no more than two) that they feel would fulfill the show’s mission of educating and inspiring.  The items will be handled with care and returned at the end of the annual show.  The 2017 trunk show will be assembled in November 2016, so the chapters have plenty of time to plan and decide on their submittals.  More information will be forthcoming and any questions can be sent to the chair at trunkshow@smocking.org
