Yankee Chapter hosts Gail Doane, September 23-24, 2017

Chapter: Yankee Chapter of New England

     The Yankee Chapter of SAGA is pleased to host Gail Doane on September 23 & 24, 2017 in Cumberland, Rhode Island.  Gail will be teaching her quilted jacket and will review construction of the dress for those who are interested.  The jacket color selections are below.  The class will be held at the beautiful Arnolds Mills Community House at 75 Hillside Road, Cumberland, Rhode Island.  The sewing space is light, bright, spacious, air conditioned and has ample parking.  Breakfast, coffee, tea, drinks and snacks will be available all day.  Lunch will be available for a small contribution.  The kit for the jacket is $110, cost for both the jacket and dress is $158.00.  Class tuition is $50 per day.  For additional information or to reserve a spot, email Kathy Dacey at kiodacey@gmail.com.  Happy summer, happy sewing and hope to see you in September!

St. Louis Retreat

Catch the Stitching Spirit!

We hope you will Catch the Stitching Spirit at the St. Louis St. Charles
Embassy Suites in St. Charles, MO. Our retreat opens with a Wee Care
Sit and Stitch on Thursday, October 12, and continues with a dessert
reception. We will have a stitching contest and great classes, held Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday morning. The Market will be held Friday, October
13, from 6-9 PM. This retreat will also include the SAGA Annual
Meeting. What a fabulous opportunity to gather with your SAGA friends!

Alexandria Fine Stitchers Present Susie Gay's Purse Reticule

Chapter: Alexandria Fine Stitchers

This gorgeous, unique purse is silk ribbon embroidered with a beaded monogram on one side and a floral garden on the other and stands about 10" tall including the handles.  It unfolds flat (about 19" x 20" not including the handles) via untying the beaded tasseled cords, to reveal a pincushion with attached emery, scissor case, needle case, one double pocket and two long cases for pens, etc.  Each case is embroidered and beaded, then attached to the inside of the Purse Reticule.  The class covers several silk ribbon and embroidery stitiches besides making cord.  Students will embroider most of the outside case, and construct four inside items.  The rest of the case will be constructed at home using the detailed instructions. This is a two day (12 hour) class.
